Visiting the RM

The RM is located on the third floor of the Aven Nelson Memorial Building at the University of Wyoming. The Aven Nelson Building is located immediately off Ninth Street between University and Fremont avenues (see the campus map). Parking is available on the streets adjacent to campus; at peak traffic periods as classes change, parking space hunting is a favorite past-time of many students, and can be moderately competitive.

Visiting hours are as follows:

Academic Year (September to mid-May)

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Summer (mid-May through August)

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Researchers should make arrangements for access prior to visiting and should check herbarium policies. It is often possible to have access to the collections in the evenings and on weekends.  While primarily a research facility, public tours for groups can also be arranged by contacting the curator or herbarium manager. The Herbarium Library is a non-circulating branch of the University libraries. As such, its resources are available to researchers, students, and visitors.

Please remember to sign the guest register at the entrance to the Herbarium when you visit.
